Monday 28 October 2013

What:  Students will be able to discuss the history and importance of calendars in addition to the rationale behind leap years.

How:  We will be in the classroom holding a discussion on calendars and leap year.

Tuesday 29 October 2013

What: Students will be able to demonstrate what they know about moon phases.

How: The students will work on the “Gazing at the Moon” formative assessment. Using the TurningPoint SRS they will answer questions as if they were in various locations around the world. They will record their rational on an explanation sheet. We will then go over the answers together to reveal misconceptions.

What: Students will be able to summarize the lessons on seasons, time and calendars.

How: We will hold a class review of the lessons on seasons, time and calendars in the planetarium.

Thursday 31 October 2013

What: Students will be able to locate the constellations they have learned this year.

How: We will hold a class review of the constellations in the planetarium. Darth Brandt will lead the review.

 

Friday 01 November 2013

What: Students will be able to recall information on seasons, time zones and the calendar.

How: Students will complete a test on seasons, time zones and the calendar.

 

These are the base plan for the week and may differ from day to day based on the differentiated needs of each class.
